Shephead collects as little as it can get away with. This page states what is kept, why, and how to have it removed.

  1. What we collect

    Your name and email address when you subscribe or send us something, and whatever you type into the forms. The nomination form also asks for the name and email address of the person you are putting forward.

  2. Cookies and analytics

    Neither. The site sets no cookies, runs no tracking scripts and counts no page views, so there is no consent banner to dismiss. Fonts are served from this domain rather than from a font provider. If that ever changes, this page changes first.

  3. Newsletter

    Your name and address are stored with Kit, our email provider, and used only to send the letter. They are never sold, rented, or shared. Every letter carries a one-click unsubscribe.

  4. Form submissions

    Questions and nominations are stored in a private spreadsheet and read by the host. Asking a question only adds you to the newsletter if you tick the box. Nominating someone does add you, which the form tells you before you submit.

  5. If you nominate someone

    We use the address you give us to write to them once, personally, about coming on the show. They are not added to the newsletter and they receive nothing else. We tell them who put their name forward unless you ask us not to.

  6. If we use your question

    We contact you before it goes to a guest, and your email address is never published or read out on the show.

  7. Playing an episode

    Audio is streamed from our podcast host, not from this site. Pressing play requests the file from them directly, so they see your IP address and the usual request details, exactly as a podcast app would.

  8. Third parties

    Only what each one needs: our podcast host serves the audio and artwork, Kit stores subscribers, Google stores form submissions, and our host runs the site. Following a link to Apple, Spotify, or Patreon takes you into their terms.

  9. Your control

    Ask for a copy of what we hold, or ask us to delete it, and we will act within thirty days. This applies whether you gave us your details yourself or someone nominated you. Unsubscribing takes one click and needs no explanation.
